APPLE VALLEY, Calif. (AP) - Scout Taylor-Compton, star of the recent teen comedy Sleepover, has been missing from her California home for nearly two weeks, officials and her publicist said Wednesday.
A spokeswoman for the San Bernardino Sheriff said the young actress was likely a runaway. The 16-year-old was last seen at home on Aug. 12, according to a statement released by her family.

I'm a-walkin' in the rain,
Tears are fallin' and I feel the pain,
Wishin' you were here by me,
To end this misery
And I wonder--
I wah-wah-wah-wah-wonder,
Why,
Why, why, why, why, why she ran away,
Yes, and I wonder,
A-where she will stay-ay,
My little runaway,
Run, run, run, run, runaway.
Run, run, run, run, runaway.
Run, run, run, run, runaway.
Some guy invovled or mom n dad were pushin her too hard....pressure on kids nowadays is outrageous..hope shes ok
Scout? Stupid parents. They gave their daughter a name that they thought would be original and look cool on a head shot, and then forced her into an acting career (I'll assume since I doubt very many children beg their parents to let them be actors). I hope that once she is found she becomes emancipated.
Dumb Names Thread
1. Seven (Costanza wanted that one bad!)
2. Scout (Tonto's Horse!)
Your turn!
Thanks to media hype perhaps. . .the occurance of very strange events seem to be escalating. . .I don't know dhicken/egg/chicken. . .(?)
Gee, thanks. Now I'll have that damn song in my head all day. :-)
I saw this story this morning on Fox and wondered...
If she gets married, say to "Joe Smith" and wants to hyphenate her name, would she be Scout Taylor-Compton-Smith...? What if hubby had a hyphenated last name, too, like "Joe Smith-Smith"; would she become Scout Taylor-Compton-Smith-Smith? And would their children have the last name "Taylor-Compton-Smith-Smith" or simply "Smith-Smith"?
Oh, yeah....hope she's OK.
Don't be too hard here. . .remember Harper Lee's classic. . .'To Kill a Mockingbird'
. . .and why blame anyone/anthing yet. . .when we simply do not know what has happened here.
So what's wrong with Scout?

Rule #1 in life: Never, ever, under any circumstances trust a women with a hyphenated name.
Rule #2 in life: Never, ever, under any circumstances trust a women with 3 names (Hillary Rodam Clinton as an example)
Any phony-African name - like Mashica or Taqwanda, etc etc.
How about LaRwanda?
Bruce Willis and Demi Moore named one of their children Scout.
Moon Unit and Dweezle Zappa are the most ridiculous I've come across.
Although the druggie down the street named her baby Luna. Poor thing is going to go through school as Lunatic.
Then there is the girl up the street named Givana, who now calls herself Mariah because in first grade the other kids kept calling her Vagina.
I do hope the girl turns up safe and not compost.
Here's her abductors:
She's been found alive; Apple Valley; runaway.
Quick, calling Greta, calling Nancy Grace!!
A friend of mine has a dog named Scout..... I can't really imagine naming a baby girl 'Scout' but then I guess I'm just old-fashioned.....
My parents have a dog named Scout, named after a dog my dad's parents owned.
I don't think you ought to name your daughter Scout unless you're going to send her out on recon missions wearing buckskin breeches and carrying a flintlock.
