It's predictable that they would make this movie into lefty propaganda. I thought the book was actually pretty good - LeCarre is a good writer, as long as you can ignore his political leanings.

Why is it the hero is always gay? Hmmmm... its become a stock cliche and no one is surprised anymore since you know in advance exactly which character best represents the Hollywood view of the world...
