Sorry Tom, but the last time I was promised a choice, I couldn't even by electricity at 18 cents a kw, while the City owned LA Light and power had a surplus to sell at 5 cents a kw. So that makes utility monopolies a GOOD idea?
As for the last time, if you are implying that we ever actually HAD deregulation in this state then you are dreaming. The power fiasco was caused by a bastardized set of new rules CALLED deregulation, which it was NOT.
We are just going to have to disagree on this issue, I don't trust Enron types with something as necessary as Electricity, or highways either. I realize the Utility commission was corrupt to the bone, but they needed fixed.
I lived with Public Utilities since the 30's and never once ran short, except due to storms and the like.
