Unfortunately, conservatives don't have an impressive track record of winning statewide elections in New Jersey. It' a bummer, but Tom Kean is probably the best we can hope for. With Jon Corzine damaged by his funneling cash to a union rep he was sleeping with, this race is in play regardless of the outcome in the Governor's race.

I will support anyone who challenges Kean in the primary.

I disagree. President Bush got 46.24% in 2004, even though he was running against a Northeastern liberal of the NJ Democrat mode. Against either Corzine or his appointee, I think a moderate-to-conservative or even solid conservative Republican could get to 50% and then not be a total embarrassment in the Senate as would be the case with a liberal RINO such as Kean, Jr.

Why not Steve Forbes for the Senate? Or one of the gubernatorial candidates, such as Lonegan (sp?) or Schundler?
