Maybe the AP & NYT should ponder reporting this.

The MSM hates the President, the war, and anything that smacks of patriotism. They'll go out of their way to bury this news.

So in other words, folks who haven't been in the military before, and who get their news about Iraq from the media, are hesitant to enlist.

Soldiers who have been in the military and who either have served in Iraq or talked to those who have, who have the straight poop on what is going on ... are re-enlisting in strong numbers.

What does that say about how the MSM is reporting the war?

the 82nd Airborne, for instance, reached an astonishing 97 percent of its yearly re-enlistment goal by the end of May!
Airborne!

I heard this this morning and it is good news indeed. I've been listening to Bill Bennett make the argument that the reason why Islamists make such progress among young people is that our schools no longer teach "truth" but the opposite. Young people seek truth, solid grounding and the sense they have a worthy role in the world, and they reach for it wherever they can find it. I suspect that that could be one reason among many that young people are re-signing. The military offers something where they make a critical difference in the life of their country. And goodness knows, we need them. God bless them!

The "Main stream" media, are a bunch of lying traitors.
They are every bit as much *The Enemy* as Bin Laden,
Zawhiri, & Zarkawi.

I hope they all die, but not until they are exposed
as the betrayers they are.

Yep, listened to reviews of the numbers yesterday on both Rush and Hannity. ANY GOOD NEWS FOR AMERICA IS BAD NEWS FOR THE RADICAL SOCIALISTS. Just more living proof of this undeniable truth.

Calling these moronic traitors MSM puts them too high up on the food chain. I prefer Enemy Propagandists, which is what they are.

As has been mentioned on FR before, these high re-enlistment rates are one reason why the reserves and national guard are struggling to make quota - often times they would pick up more active duty folks ready to transition to "part-time" service.

The media want to scare folks into thinking we'll have to bring back the draft ... that's why they are reporting low recruitment numbers

Well of course they are ignoring it, it doesn't fit their "plan."

A. Is it damaging to the Bush Admin?

B. Is it damaging to America?

If yes on the first, run with it. Hell, if yes on both, run with it.

I'm sure those dumb redneck Christian fundie hicks who are joining the military just don't understand how the President and the neo-cons lied to them about the mission/sarc

I'm betting the media spins the reenlistment numbers into an unemployment issue, i.e. people are signing back up because they know there's no jobs to be had.

The MSM is acting just like the typical state-run communist propaganda media.

Rush Limbaugh is SO effective at analyzing MSM propaganda. Reading the MSM is just like Cold War era "Kremlinology."

That's because they are too busy with stories like this:
Declining Numbers: Military service academies try to figure out reasons for dramatic drop in applications

And this is from FOX of all places.

First off, I am not a troll. That said, here's my question.

Heard an interesting caller on Michael Reagan's show last night who said that if they don't re-enlist that they go on active reserve and get activated anyway, so if there are bonuses involved they re-enlist. Reagan didn't do a good job of responding to this, in my opinion. I'd really like to hear this refuted. Can anyone here do that?
