Someone please explain this to me: Pat Robertson, who has absolutely no standing in our government, official or otherwise, says we should 'take out' Chavez and reporters ask Secretary Rumsfeld if we are going to do just that. WTFO?????

Chavez is like a spoiled child craving attention. He wouldn't make a pimple on Uncle Sam's butt.
Even if our military and government did have plans to do that, they won't tell the MSM until after the fact, or not at all.
Way back when, Robertson was used as a rallying cry the way Limbaugh, Bush, Delay etc...are today, only it was more effective with Robertson. Just as the Left still lives in the '60's, they still live in the day when Robertson was pivotal in some politically influential circles so they think this is big news that will hurt conservatives. They especially wish to destroy the credibility of "social conservatives". Their belief is that the citizenry will react in horror at the 'extremist religious right' and run back to their arms.
No dice. Robertson's biggest days have passed and he's, well, he hasn't cut ties the way Pat Buchanon did but he certainly strained a few in past years.
It's like dragging out Mondale. His day is long over.
The MSM is making Robertson big news because they really believe he's big news. They don't live in 2005.
