So when does the IBM boycott begin??
They allowed them to view it, only, under strict circumstances. They did not give it away, as you claimed. To view the most sensative portions they must travel to their headquarters under strict circumstances. Obviously not the same as the complete givaways of the software, that you support. Calling me names and accusing me of lying doesn't change that.
They didn't give it away as one piece of code, they gave parts of it to the to check for back-door security risks.
Here's a link.
Ours began some time ago. I suggest you start yours if you haven't already.
They are just granting access to other countries, is all.
They are not giving away hardware...they are granting access to a bunch of legacy code, most of it not written by IBM.
For instance, I wrote some of that code while in HS, and my mother wrote a bunch more of it.
you guys are a hoot... you script all of this before hand don't you?
The company said it will roll out more than 40 virtual workshops that will help developers in distant countries learn and go to market with their applications faster and at a lower cost. The virtual workshops, which developers can access through a web conference from their PCs, will offer mentoring and learning capabilities.
Where does it say that in this article?
Internet explorer is proof that with enough money and a built in market, you can make 90% of the world use crap.
Luckily, it's startign to swing back away from MS in the browser wars.
Apparently you didn't read the article. This givaway includes all of IBM's best commercial products that are sold at a premium here in the US:
"WebSphere, its web application server; DB2, its relational management database; IBM Tivoli, its management software product; and Lotus, IBMs collaboration software"
How about "tin turkey"???
Maybe GE can have multiple nicknames.
And make many people jealous in the process, a win-win situation.
jealous of what?
I don't think you are in the computer business - are you?
LOL
well PC and I don't rehearse, but Golden is SOOO predictable that we already kind of KNOW what he is going to respond with :)
software portfolio = shareware
No, I am a matter of fact guy that manages large networks for the DoD, who is seriously concerned about these issues, and backs up every one of my points with links. Check my history if you doubt it.
The hecklers are who knows what from where. They are quite sensitive to these issues regarding givaways to China and other countries however. A difficulty with English accompanies some as well.
Being by far number one in the software market. Success breeds contempt ... and jealousy.
from their desktop at no charge
40 virtual workshops
The virtual workshops, which developers can access through a web conference from their PCs
shareware, practice space, mentoring = you think maybe they are trying to sell mainframes?
