You just blew all your credibility when you mentioned Knoxville in the same sentence as Birmingham...LOL.

As far as Buckhead and Midtown are concerned, BHM has Five Points South, which is more night clubby--as well as Lakeview, which gets the professionals.

What is contradictory is that you slam the other poster for assuming that ATL is nothing more than its downtown area, but then you brag about Buckhead and Midtown.

I've previously lived in both BHM and ATL--so I'm speaking from a position of authority--and I'd like to hear someone who KNOWS try to name anything (other than the Braves) that could convince me to move to ATL over BHM...

How is that contradictory? Neither Buckhead nor Midtown are in downtown Atlanta. The poster (maybe you) tried to act like Birmingham offered comparable dining and culture to Atlanta. That is just ignorant. Try to keep up.

I mention Knoxville as when I worked for the TVA the Tennessee people exhibited the same small minded, ignorant attitude for Knoxville as those in Alabama do for Birmingham. I remember at one point an engineer had just returned from Hong Kong and most of the people tried to act like Knoxville had everything if not more than Hong Kong did.

I'm very familiar with Birmingham and you give it too much credit. Five Points south is size of one block of night live in an Atlanta suburb, much less Midtown or Buckhead.

You certainly don't speak from any position of authority. You didn't like Atlanta and a small town like Birmingham is more your speed. Good for you. You are in the minority though.
