The Left's - especially the ACLU's assault on the Christian presence in the public square - should be seen in the light of its virulent hostility to ALL non-materialist conceptions of life. They disturb the Left's value system and and are a competitor for ideas in the minds of men. That's why the Left that worked overtime to cleanse religion from every aspect of the public order in this country.

The non-Christian or non-Jewish people will also do and say everything they can, including rewriting history to try make belief in God the cause of all the worlds woes, although Christ brought more peace and inspired advancement of the human race than would have ever been achieved had the world continued on it's godless course.
Atheists, and those inspired by later religions like communists, and totalitarian socialist systems like Marxists and Hitlerism, and Islam have since the dawn of time killed far more people than the word of God ever did. In fact, those that despised belief in our Savior are what caused the so called dark ages in the first place.
But for some reason, only the period following that initial slaughter of Christians, when Christians fought back against those that persecuted them, and fought back against the invading Muhammadan butchers, is repeated by those who despise belief in a higher power. In fact, if it wasn't for those attempts to reclaim the holy lands, and prevent those Muhammadans from establishing a foothold in Europe, Europe would probably all be squatting on prayer mats, Butts raised high, and America wouldn't be discovered yet.

With the exception of Islam, which is wrongfully called a religion, Belief in God has NOT been the cause of most of the bloodshed in history; Christianity was the glue which held Europe together and prevented many a war, which helped it grow and advance.
Even among Hindu's, it was only the invading Muhammadans which has kept them at war for the past 1200 or more years, and cost them more than 100 million souls and countless temples raised only to have a mosk built on top of it's foundation.
It's really unfortunate that the defensive crusades against the Muhammadan blood thirsty bandits were not successful in retaking the holylands. It would be a prosperous place today if they were, and we wouldn't have this cancer eating at the world today.
