What a brilliant, detailed plan...... very helpful advice, I'm sure our generals will appreciate it.
The leadership of this country has not fought a war with sufficient brutality since 1945!
Get the fake news media and the politics out of the way and let the military do their job. Nuff said.
I heard the call. I think a large part of the callers purpose was to push the draft idea.
Rush had a caller a few days ago that voiced a similar concern; he said that he supported the war, but only until it became apparent we don't have the political will to win it decisively and quickly. Rush speculated with the caller that a large number of the people who are polling as against the war merely wish we would fight it more aggressively.
Count me in!
Gotta admit, your use of "Zell Miller" in title is like finding out Angelina Jolle wears falsies.
A big concern appears to be that the terrorists are being allowed privileged sanctuaries in neighboring states like Syria, Iran, Saudi, etc. in which to stage their raids, rest and recoup. If this situation persists then it will quickly exasperate public support for what will be seen as an endless shooting gallery or lethal game of whack a mole.
Rush is too smart by half to fall for that. Or did he try to get Rush to agree on that point?
Me too!!
I have to agree in saying let's cut to the chase and quit trying to fight a "nice" war. I think we need to go kick some serious A and be done with it. IMHO the Islamofascists will understand that and get the point alot quicker than this piecemeal poke and jab stuff.
I agree. The "draft" idea is poison.
Having more soldiers on the ground might help win final victory, or it might just put more targets in harm's way.
I think we should avoid the draft at all costs. I am way over draft age, so it is not self-interest. If we have to increase numbers, then raise pay.
Do we see News out of Saudi Arabia on our LSM (lame stream media)?
No, not unless they kill some terrorists.
Why is that?
Because they do NOT allow foreign press to operate within their borders. The same goes in Kuwait, and Syria. If only Iraq would say, "No foreign press; all press must go through official Iraqi government liaisons, or the US Command.
End of problem! Then we might, and I reiterate "might" actually see some "Ernie Pyle" type of reporting. On second thought, there probably are no real reporters left...

Agreed. Why are we sitting on our hands? I think W is losing his nerve. And, sadly it will take another terrorist tragedy in America to jump-start our resolve in achieving our objective. The rest of the world is hiding under the covers... waiting for more bombings. (shaking head in disbelief).
My view on it is a lot like the 80 year old man who called Rush. And I would add that a lot of the reason our nation doesn't act like a nation at war is because the Bush administration has consistently done two things: it has allowed politics to interfere with fighting (remember Falluja) and it has backed off its tough talk from 9/12. Iran, North Korea, Syria, Saudi Arabia--four years later, they are still absolutely free to plot evil against us. If George Bush believed we were in a war for our survival, we would be cleaning house in these various countries. The sad truth, though, is that we won't until they start cutting off kids heads in school screaming allah akhbar.
When our men and leaders in the field work and fight under the constant threat of being portrayed for their actions as vicious animals by the media and world - and thus then brought up on major charges of anything from cruelty to war crimes......
IF the media and leftist world had the same ideals back durring WWII, we would STILL be fighting that war today (if we had ever joined in in the first place....).
I have generally been supportive of GW's handling of the War and have been quite vocal about that. But my mind has been changing. I don't want to second guess those in charge - but the word from those I know who have been returning from Iraq is that they still feel restrained.
The foe we face does NOT understand the limp-writed approach - that's why we are there in the first place. Remember the threats of "shock-and-awe"? It never materialized.
Our enemy learns by fighting us in Iraq. Those that survive to fight another day may very well face our troops in another venue in the future - and they will know the score. They will know the limits our people have and will take advantage of those limits (much as they are doing now).
