No we're talking about a real Concrete reinforced fence (30 Ft High at least) built to ISRAELI Specs, a la, keep out terrorists, bombers, and anybody else, backed up with sensors, cameras, and the like.

Then a buffer zone with patrol lanes, and then the chain link with RAZOR WIRE.

We cut off entry to anybody who cannot FLY over the Border.

Ah, well, that is a different story.  Yeah, I agree, something of those specs would definitely work.  It'd cost a lot more than what's listed in the article, but the direct negative financial impact (not including the costs of the crime and disease they bring) would more than offset construction costs.
