Documents detailing the work of a top secret military intelligence unit that identified lead 9/11 hijacker Mohamed Atta before the 9/11 attacks have disappeared, according to the Defense Intelligence Agency's liaison for the group, code named Able Danger.
"There's some troubling things that have happened both to me and the way the [Able Danger] information [was handled]," Lt. Col. Anthony Shaffer told C-Span's "Sunday Morning Journal." "Shortly after I talked to the 9/11 Commission, there was some issues going on about the documentation. Right now as it stands this minute, to my knowledge, the documentation I had . . . we don't know where it is."
"It's not where I left it back in March of 2003," Shaffer said, which was "in a Department intelligence facility in the Northern Virginia area."
Shaffer told C-Span he had "one full set of Able Danger documents in my holdings from the DIA."
The Able Danger whistleblower had said previously that a member of the team had delivered two briefcases full of documents to the 9/11 Commission - but Commission spokesman have said they have found nothing that mentioned Atta by name.
I would personaly go down is pants to get them. To hang him and the Clintons for treason and anything and everything else
I am so fed up with this kind of stuff. everything is gone: the reports, the servers containing the data, backups, etc.
Berger stole from the archives, I see no evidence in this article indicating these documents are missing from the archives.
I'll man the oxygen pump.
Well lets see 3000 dead plus I say ruin them all
I wasn't trying to say that Berger stole these documents (he obviously didn't); however, it is very likely that there were transcripts and memos from Oval Office meetings that dealt with Able Danger. It is logical to conclude that the documents that Berger stole were important enough that the Clintonistas didn't want anybody ever seeing them.
Where are the Repubs? Or are they part of the problem here. This is rediculous. . .and yet. . .not surprising.
I thought I heard on Tony Snow show last week that the other members of Able Danger DO have documents. If I remembering correctly, the other AD guys are trying to get clearance to come forward. They do have copies or other documentation.
I'm sorry but I am going from memory
This statement would indicate that documents did exist and the Commission is claiming they never saw Atta's name on those documents.
And in a safe , I hope. . .
I remember the same thing, there are certainly other copies.
Hey al, shhh...don't let it be know you want to get into Sandy Berger's pants!
If this is true, then the Commission has two briefcases of documents. Where are the documents?
we need to know exactly what documents are "missing" here. the results of the able danger analysis, that was blocked by DoD lawyers from being passed on, that is all missing? or is it just the set of documents delivered to the 9-11 commission (copies I imagine) that have dissapeared?
we all know what is goin on here, the 9-11 commission is running for cover, they want to discredit this whole story. if this story is true, if the entire paper trail is gone, they may have pulled it off.
or electronically stored on a memory stick hidden someplace.
The papers went the way of the records in Vince Foster's office..
Yep, pretty sad our government loses things like this all the time. But by God you make a $1.00 mistake on your income tax return and they will find it like a needle in a hay stack!
They find the things they want to find.
