Its no yellow jersey, but President Bush on Saturday presented Lance Armstrong with another shirt to show off his biking experiences a red, white and blue T-shirt emblazoned Tour de Crawford.
The leader of the free world and the worlds biking master rode for 17 miles on Bushs ranch for about two hours at midmorning. Bush showed Armstrong the sites of the ranch that he calls a little slice of heaven, including a stop at a waterfall midway through the ride.
They were accompanied by a small group of staff and Secret Service agents and a film crew from the Discovery Channel, Armstrongs Tour de France sponsor, which had exclusive media access for the ride. Footage was shot for a program on Armstrong to air this week.

Clinton would have invited Cheryl Crow instead. Then he would hit on her.
You wouldn't?
And Kerry would have tumbled his bike and then blamed the reporters.
No. Like the current President, and unlike the former, impeached President, I adhere to the letter and spirit of my marriage vows.
Also, someone whose answer to war is to "not have enemies" doesn't sound like a conversational gem either. Armstrong is an exceptional individual. It would be fun to hang out with him. If nothing else, just to ask him about his cameo in Dodgeball.
17 miles! That's quite a ride for the President. He must be in good shape. 17 yards would be far enough for me.
Not on your life. But that is me...your opinion may vary!
I wish I were in as good a shape as he is. His last physical said he was 6' tall, 190 lbs. That is pretty svelte.
Good, and surprising. I know Armstrong campaigned for Kerry. I remember Lurch wore his yellow Armstrong bracelet throughout the entire campaign.
and he's kinda cute too.
LT COL "Buzz" Patterson recently wrote a book about the time he spent with Bill Clinton carrying the nuclear football. The name of the book was "Dereliction of Duty".
He came to detest the man so much, that when it came time for him to leave, he was going to decline the de rigeur photo opportunity with the President that is traditionally given to all the "carriers of the football" in recognition.
He changed his mind, because he thought his wife, family and inlaws might enjoy visiting the White House and having their picture taken with the President.
He regretted it. As soon as his wife entered the room, Clinton started eyeballing her like he was in a singles bar.
No class trash.
LOL!
I really liked the way you boiled your life philosopy down to:
"I believe in preserving family values and the sanctity of marriage, the wisdom of our constitution, the protection of the unborn, and the kicking of terrorist ass!"
Well done!
Lance must be running for something. I think he is using President Bush to appeal to Republicans or conservative Democrats(if they exist anymore).
Thank you! :)
Or it could be that Lance Armstrong was simply accepting the invitation of the President, a fellow Texan and biker.
No need to read more into this than you have to.
And Gore would have said he invented the Tour de France
Nice picture, look at all those sunflowers
