I would have asked the manager to call the police. I'm not a vigilante, even though the vigilantes originated right here in Montana.
I stand by my assertation that a gun should never be a factor (no matter how "passive") in any situation unless you are willing to pull it out and shoot it. You were bluffing.

I think what's really bothering everyone is the fact you circled the table. No, it's not technically illegal but we all know it's threatening w/o a gun, much less open carry.
I'd respect it if you did this without a gun, but with one it makes you into the bully.
And 'what if' the manager had been a burly 6'10" packing a .357 on his hip and had told you that you needed to hit the road...
Actually, the very first vigilantes were formed on the North Carolina frontier at the Forks of the Yadkin in the 1750s, and there were vigilante groups in California in the 1850s long before Montana was first settled.
