Im proud to be an American, but Italia has a special place in my heart. We went to Firenze, Pisa, Roma in Nov. 2003 and had a GREAT time!
Berlusconi is a good man and ally, and the Carabinieri are cool dudes!
Next time bring your cowboy hat and come on down to the southwest! We still have wide open spaces, and as an Italian you might enjoy the cuisine.
Buon giorno!
Auguri, Claudia! Parla bene l'Inglese. Grazie per le notizie. Sei sempre la benvenutta in America.
Thank you so much.
I'd like to return to Italy one day.
Great post. Your English is multo bene. My grandparents on both sides emigrated from Sicily in the 1920s. They became very patriotic Americans who also deeply loved Italy
and their Italian heritage. They taught their children
and grandchildren to be patriotic, freedom loving Americans. Our family has visited Italy many times and
just LOVED it. You have EXCELLENT taste in Presidents--
Italian and American :-))
I remember your post before you left to come here & I am so glad you had a great time. I LOVE Italy & her people....and hope to someday very soon visit your country.
It is very good to hear from you. I am so touched by the story of the little girl. Love of one's country is something we can share. I was on a train to Firenze along time ago with my daughter, who was then 6, and all of the Italian families shared with us the food they had packed for the journey. I wll never forget it. Two great countries, two great Presidents.
First, your English is better than some American's who went to Public School.
Second, hopefully a Free Republic Person will send you a Private Email. You can email them to that knowledgable person to post for you.
Do not feel bad--I don't know how to put up pictures myself.
I forgot to mention that my grandparents were from Italy ~ one from the mountain northern Italy and one from a town down in the "heel of the boot"! I have been fortunate enough to have visited Italy several times, each for an extended period of time.
Of course, I fell in love my grandparent's mother country ~ so beautiful and so diverse. Just like America, in some ways. I loved wandering around in the big cities, but (like here) I loved being out in the country side even more!
And the food.............what can I say about the food, except that I now understand why my grandmother's kitchen always smelled like heaven! Each dish more fabulous than the next! I want to go back just to eat and visit with the people in the small villages again!
Actually I'm from the mountain northen Italy... Where exaclty your grandparents were from?
Yeah. One of the thing I miss most in America was the Italian food. When I'll come back I'll cook for the FReepers, ok?
What a wonderful posts. It's so nice to hear good things said about our Country for a change.
Next time tho you have got to take a trip down South! You missed the best part of America ;-)
So nice to read your letter. I leave next week with my daughter for a visit to Italy.
I read your web site and enjoyed it. Do hope that you visit the USA again.
why dont you send this to your local Italian newspaper?
thank you
