Nope. You missed the biggest and most important section of the Constitution, the "Schedule of Emanations and Penumbras," under which the Fourth Amendment applies primarily to protect the most fundamental and inviolable rights to contraception, feticide, and sodomy; the right of the citizens to own property is subject to whatever whim or desire of any random government agency and tax enhancement schemes; and the Constitution itself is subject to interpretation that jives with various randomly selected foreign and international legal traditions.
The words of the Constitution, although important, have no more specific meaning than the word "is," which we famously must interpret so broadly as possibly to signify "is not."

Sad story but I guess you learned early that
"We're here from the government and we are going to help you" is a bald faced lie.
My wife raised a baby squirrel that had fallen out of the nest. She raised it for 3 months and we released it in a big oak tree in our back yard. He ran up the tree and seemed to enjoy himself. My wife was sad. I went outside 2 hours later and found the squirrel scared and shaking on a limb. Told my wife and she went out and he came back to "mama".
We released him for a couple of hours every Sunday for next 6 months till he died suddenly one day. At least, we didn't get any A$$holes like you did.

A goldfinch ran into a window. Kids found the finch. We got it on a perch and called a rehabilitator who said, dont let it get off the perch. Gave me the name of a bird rehabilitator who hemmed and hawwed. I finally asked what he would do with the bird and he said, Wring its neck... So instead of spending the tank of gas to bring birdie down to have its neck wrung we fed and kept the bird for several months. In spring we let it go.
We saw it most of the summer.
Never ever think that wildlife experts have anything called simple compassion. This is a job to them and they are not going to brook amatures.
