What?
With this in mind, MoJo needs to go over some things for all newbies to our Music Dedication:
1. We appreciate requests. However, we cannot spend all day filling requests by FReepers who haven't heard a song in a long time. All of those requests will be saved for the following week. We enjoy and appreciate your enthusiasm, but we don't have all day to do it.
2. This does not mean we don't want requests. We just ask that you understand that we can't take your entire list of requests and play them all today. That isn't fair to the other requestors.
3. Please do not leave instructions on the thread on how to download music. This is an absolute NO-NO! If you want to do such things, please create your own thread. We monitor these things very strictly and do not appreciate such instructions. The music posted on these threads are for our Troops and their families. If you get enjoyment out of it, that's a bonus. However, everyone else's pleasure is secondary to our Troops. Any posts that are found with instructions to download music will be removed. You may not mind, but the rest of us don't want our bandwidth stolen. That takes away from the Troops.
4. Please be patient. We're working as fast as we can to fill music requests.
5. laurenmarlowe should be pinged to any requests that are done so on the thread or via FReepmail. However, she's extremely busy looking for requests. So? Please be patient.
6. We've had a few complaints this weekend regarding certain songs or bands not played at the Top of the thread. You can't begin to understand how much this pisses MoJo off. First, this music is provided for our Troops, Veterans, and family members FIRST!! Second, we offer a variety and not offering entire genre samples. Third, we don't have all day to provide a complete list of everything. Fourth, if you'd like more compilations--we encourage you to buy them.
7. Any mistreatment of the Canteen Deejays --any of them--will see you not getting requests. When asking for something, please try to be civil and polite about it. We're doing this for you..not the other way around. Most everyone is gracious and a pleasure to handle. A few of you are not.
8. None of the Canteen Deejays are paid to do this. We do this as a group and voluntarily share what we can to entertain our Troops. Getting irate about not having your request filled is unnecessary and childish. We're all here to have a good time. Don't ruin it for all of us.
9. We've been doing this for over 2 years. We know what to expect--the unexpected. We're thrilled to help find music that folks haven't heard in forever. However, we know what we're doing. We have new Deejays coming online. Please be patient with them. If they make a mistake, don't ridicule them for it. Just kindly let them know. It's not easy being put to the test on a Friday night/Saturday during the Music Dedication.
10. We warned everyone that the Canteen Music Ping list is a high volume ping list. That means you will receive a lot of pings from our ping list. Most of the Canteen Deejays share the ping list. So? You're going to be inundated on Friday night/Saturday. So? Please think very carefully before you request to join our list.
11. Also, not all the Canteen Deejays use the ping list. Some just do their own thing. So? Please stop writing to ask to be put on a specific person's ping list. We share the lists. If you want Drumbo to ping you, please FReepmail him directly. If he chooses not to use a ping list, GET OVER IT. MoJo has had 7 emails about that this morning already. It's a free country! Scroll and find his music.
12. Most of the observations above aren't for the majority of Canteen Music listeners. We enjoy everyone's enthusiasm. We're sorry that we have to even go through this.
