COMPILATION MUSIC WEEKEND!
|
Welcome To The Canteen Music Dedication!! If you've ever written us with questions regarding why we don't play a certain genre of music, this is your weekend! |
~ Music Mix I ~ Great Guitar Solos |
This music section pays tribute to some of the greatest guitar solos in Rock N Roll. If you're interested, this was from a compilation. We're only giving you a sample!! (A section we dedicate to Diva Betsy Ross!! She rocks ya know!) *Before anyone complains, we know some of you like to complain: This isn't the entire list of guitar solos. Just a small sampling.
What's that sound you hearing? Oh that! That's hotstreak gagging. He's only into guitar songs that are drowned out by loud drums. |
~ Music Mix II ~ Mini Tribute To Country Classics |
This section contains musical selections of Country Classics. If it was made after 1935, you won't find it here.hotstreak: Didn't they have drums back then? MoJo: hotstreak..folks like Ma get into this stuff. Hush! Besides, before Toby Keith there was these folks. hotstreak: Toby Keith is much better. He likes drums. |
~ Music Mix III ~ Motown Tribute |
This section contains musical selections from Motown Recording artists. Obviously, we can't to get every Motown artist. This is a sampler.
|
~ Music Mix IV ~ Punk Music |
This section contains musical selections from Punk artists. This section may have highly offensive music. Please click carefully. Not for kids or Ma. Although, most of these songs you'll recognize. However, it's done with a Punk flavor. In our pursuit to find music annoying to Ma's ears, we bring you PUNK MUSIC!! WOOOHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOO! MoJo: hotstreak and MoJo dedicate this section to Du (radu) and all our Troops that love Punk music!! |
~ Music Mix V ~ Ska & Dancehall Music |
This section contains musical selections that are highly offensive. This section is not for kids or Ma. In MoJo's pursuit to find music that Ma won't understand, we bring you Ska & Dancehall music. WooHoo!! hotstreak: More good music. |
~ Music Mix VI ~ Rhythm & Blues Goes Rock N Roll |
This section is an *educational* journey for all those folks out there that believe that Usher and Alicia Keys are R&B. (That's you hotstreak!) If you believe The Blues are always depressing and hard to get into, this section may change your opinion.Remember, it's Rhythm AND Blues! If you like this section, we may do an entire thread dedicated to this in the future! |
~ Music Mix VII ~ Hip Hop & Rap Music |
This section contains musical selections that are highly offensive. This section isn't for Ma. To say that it isn't for kids, would be kind of bad for MoJo since hotstreak helped to put this section together. Parental Guidance needed for this section!! |

Hi there! How are ya today?
Thanks for your request! I will play for you shortly.

Oh, I already did. Scrambled eggs with bits of pepper and onion, fresh tomato (nice and ripe!), and a few cups of coffee. Yummy! I'm totally out of any type of bread, too lazy to make biscuits (don't need 'em anyhow), and don't have any meat. Guess I'll have to make a grocery run sometime. Ugh!
Mornin', HiJinx and Kathy!

A little background on Fats Domino:
The "black" neighborhood in New Orleans where Fats Domino grew up was only about four blocks from my house. In my pre-teen years before he made the big time he used to drive through the neighborhood in a ( real, ) wood-paneled station wagon with these big, grey PA type speakers that looked like megaphones, on the roof. He had "Fats Domino" painted on the sides of the wagon, ( some of the wood panels were rotting out. ) ( Kids, ask Kathy what a station wagon is and if there really were station wagons with real wood paneling. ) :-) These speakers were blaring out his then unknown music.
Everytime he passed we would wave. He would wave back and that infectious smile would light up his face.
The house he grew up in was literally a "shack." However, when he made the big time he remained, ( I suppose one could say, ) "true" to his "people." ( Also, after he made the big time he got rid of the station wagon and opted either for a Cadillac or a chauffeur-driven limosine, depending upon his mood each day. ) :-)
The house he built was gaudy, huge, terribly out-of-place and all colors of pastel BUT, in his old neighborhood.....among all of the black "shacks."
It was on Caffin Ave one block North of St. Claude Ave on the way toward Chalmette. There was a Piggly Wiggly on the corner of St Claude and Caffin Aves on the opposing corner of his house. I don't know if the house is still there because I haven't been down there in over 25 years or so.
Fats liked to gamble. The Las Vegas hotels used to LOVE to sign him to contracts because he would gamble away much more money than the contract was worth.
