Sorry, I got side-tracked. Care to summarize, or do I need to see the re-broadcast later?

Okay ---short synopsis....you can decide if you want to watch repeat...

Tony Snow had on a guy from the Brookings Institute to discuss the War in Iraq...the main complaint of this guy was that Rummy didn't plan well enough for the aftermath of when Baghdad was taken..(I think the State dept. released some "confidential" memos to the effect that they were warned a few weeks before the war...about the need to have a plan for policing the country, which wasn't followed --Bush'f fault)...

Brookings guy said that he agrees with the amount of troops Rummy sent, but that he didn't "plan" well enough for them to be in the right places after objective met..

NOW--immediately, I thought of the problem that happened in Turkey...which caused the "plans" to have to shift exponentially at the last second...Tony didn't bring that up and the guy didn't ackowledge that...

So, his basic opinion was that enough troops, bad planning.

Then, Tony brought up the Able Danger thing and the records that came out this week that showed that Clinton had at least 8 KNOWN attacks by Bin Ladin under his watch, had a PDB memo that said in the 90's that Bin Ladin wanted to fly planes into buildings, was offered Bin Ladin at least 3 times...the most important of which was right before he enter Afghanistan...

Question from Tony: I dont' think the Clinton Administration did too well re: Bin Ladin, do you?

The same guy said that you get all kinds of intelligence, and you make plans but that some things just don't work out right, and that more facts would have needed to been known...in order for Clinton to act on Bin Ladin..blah, blah, blah...

Okay...sorry this is so long...

My reaction was----he indicted Rummy/Bush for planning wrongly for things that "should have been anticipated" re: how fast we would be in Baghdad, the army running away..that there wouldn't be a hearty welcome by the Iraqi...

BUT, that is was "understandable" that Clinton's Administration "overlooked" some evidence that Bin Ladin was an threat...

Okay --- now, you can flame me for overreacting perhaps, but after this crap week of hearing Cindy Sheehan saying stuff against the war...and finding out today that she said yesterday that she blames BUSH more than the terrorist for killing her son...

It just made me mad that once again Clinton skates...and this war is second guessed and nitpicked to death..

And, I am disappointed that Tony didn't call this guy on any of it.
