If I believed in curses I would have someone put one on the new hotels/condos in this case.

That's a shame. There's a funky place to get oysters there that's awesome.

I guessing that an actual civil war will erupt in this former republic within the next 5 years.
And I used to think all that John Titor stuff was BS....

Folks I've been saying this for a long time, it will no be long until almost all hotels on the beach is gone. Panama City, FL has lost about 50% of the hotel rooms in the past two years and has about 35 condo projects underway.
Not much longer until we will have NO beach access? Who owns the ocean view anyway?

I have two problems with your concern/argument. #1, you ask who owns the ocean view. Well, no one, but someone in this case owned the land/boardwalk on their property, which went to the ocean. Who has the right to say the "public good" is to remove the board walk for a condo. #2. In most states there is a "Public Easement" along the beaches up to mean high tide. So, NOBODY can build right down into the water (or over it). Florida needs to get with that program.

I think you are right-something tells me that this land grabbing stuff will be the spark that ignites a conflagration I'd hoped could be avoided in this country.

It's already there dude. This travesty of the 'taking' of this property has nothing to do with public access. There will always be public access regardless of what is developed there. I've developed both town homes and condos on the beach in Florida. BELIEVE ME these laws are on the books.
This is about eminent domain! I must have missed the invitation on bash Florida for everything party!

That wasn't my post-it was posted by Integrityrocks-I don't know anything about imminent domain or other laws in Florida, since I've only been there twice to visit friends.
