As expected, both the House and Senate went sine die this morning, ending a 30-day special session that, for all practical purposes, ended more than two weeks ago when the House rejected school finance reform.
Gov. Rick Perry is expected to hold a news conference early this afternoon, where hell likely tell us what comes next. Few around the Capitol expect Perry to call a third special session on school finance reform until the Texas Supreme Court rules this fall on whether the current system is unconstitutional.
That means lawmakers are free to go home and find out hear what their neighbors think about the Legislatures repeated inability to lower property taxes and come up with a new way to pay for schools.
What a great summer its been!

In fact, I think I'm voting for Kinky.
I couldn't believe they wasted all this time, but I hear they did vote in a pay increase for themselves. I second the motion that all need to be replaced, maybe Kinky does have a future after all.
The only way to send the right message to our jackalope politicians is to scare em with as many replacements as we can elect.
Kinky! My contributions in the mail. Where's that petition?
The key will be to replace the incumbents and, since I don't want a new scumbag dem to replace my Republicans fat, dumb and worthless representatives, I/we have to learn what we have to do to run new Republicans, first, in a primary, and then have them win in the election.
I'll have to admit that I found out for the first time when some one made an issue of it this summer, that the votes of our representatives on specific issues are not recorded. Thus, when a particular bill passes or fails, I can not tell how my representatives voted and they are free to lie to me. We need to change these jerks.
