A good test of the hypothesis posed by our northern neigbors would be to see if Canadian violent crime went down after we passed GCA34, GCA68, Brady, The Assault Weapons Ban, or any of a number of "gun control" measures in the USA.

But it looks like their crime went up after they tried gun banning themselves, with little or no correlation to the "ready availability of guns" in the USA.

Hey, didn't Michael Moore say that there were more guns per capita in Canada than in the USA? Hmmm, if that savant is telling the truth then why would there be a market for American guns?

Most firearms are rifles...I have 2 rifles and a shotgun, zero pistols.

most crimes like this are committed with handguns by criminals, they kill people in or around the criminal sub culture with an occasional outsider getting killed...

it's a criminal problem, not a gun problem...

back home most crimes were committed within the subculture with knives, machetes or blunt trauma ie bat or crow bar...

Most people outside mega cities in Canada have legitimate reasons for firearms, with a lot of the population living up north, a firearm is a must have.

they need to drop the ridiculous registration and restrictions on firearms ownership...

This Canadian will admit it is a Canadian problem and I blame only the liberal elitists for creating it in the first place...

It has nothing to do with the USA...
