Michael Graham Finally Fired?

WMAL Shake-Up? - 8/18 - No confirmation. But on Thursday, DCRTV heard from a source that WMAL may be close to canning late morning talk show host Michael Graham. Graham was suspended in late July for calling Islam a "terrorist organization." After complaints from a local Islamic organization and several of WMAL's sponsors. Adding fuel to the rumor: Graham's website - michaelgraham.com - ain't working. Also, we're hearing that Randall Bloomquist, Graham's friend who worked with him in Richmond and Charlotte, might soon be on the outs as WMAL's program director. As of Friday, WMAL was still promoting Graham's show - with a substitute host. Officially, Graham's still on suspension, which coincided with his planned vacation.....

If this is true, then it just plain sucks! May a big, nasty pox afflict both WMAL and ABC Radio if Michael has been canned because of the terrorism apologists at CAIR! WMAL's twin slogans, "If you're talking about it, we're talking about it!" and "Power in Truth" have proven to be nothing more than a load of hypocritical hogwash as far as I'm concerned!

If this is true, BOO to WMAL! I still love Grandy and Andy but this is just caving in to the haters at CAIR.

Supposedly, Disney owns the radio station. I've been told that Saudi prince who tried to give Rudy Guiliani a check at the bombed WTC in NY, and was smirking, is a MAJOR SHAREHOLDER of Disney.

The Saudi has been known to make personal phone calls when he objects to free speech criticisms of islam.

That was great!!!!! there is an excellent book out, titled "Prophet of Doom" with direct translation of the Koran and words of Mohammed, it fills about 700 pages with the most violent words of any religion I have ever seen!!!!

So, Cindy Heehan can call our President a terrorist, but Michael Graham can't say that about Islam. Man, this whole PC thing has gone way too far. Just sickening.

What's really strange about this is that all the substitute hosts have really been hitting the illegal immigration problem hard. Much harder than Michael was about Islam, IMO. It appears that CAIR has more pull than La Raza. If this is true, than WMAL's slogan should now be "WMAL, we love terrorists." I really wish some of the biggies at WMAL would speak out about this but I won't hold my breath.

Well, an earlier version of dcrtv's blurb that was posted #10 on this thread (http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1465845/posts) suggested that Michael's union was filing a request for arbitration in the matter. If ABC Radio and Disney (at the behest of their Saudi shareholders--if that is the case) have in fact ordered WMAL to fire Michael for his criticism of Islam with regard to terrorism, then it seems to me that the integrity of all of WMAL's talk show hosts will be effectively compromised and even silenced on the issue. Chris Core, Andy and Grandy, and the others there absolutely need to stick together and back Michael, if nothing else to protect themselves and their ability to discuss Islam's relationship with terrorism without fearing reprisal from above.

If arbitration is underway and ultimately fails, then I hope the union members declare a strike and halt station operations to blow this whole thing wide open and bring national scrutiny upon ABC Radio's actions with regard to Michael.

I hope this would happen. Unfortunately, I really think that, as much as I like them as people, Andy, Grandy and Chris Core do not have spines. I would like to be proven wrong though.

CAIR needs to be booted out of this country, especially now that they have become lawsuit hungry and partners with the ACLU. The first thing I heard this morning was the news about the CAIR/ACLU lawsuit in Guilford County, N.C. Muslims are suing to be able to place their hand on the Qur'an, rather than the Bible in court proceedings. I've already written one letter to WMAL in support of Graham. Perhaps it's time to write another.
