Uh Huh, unless of course you forgot and left a round in the chamber and you catch the bolt on something and it snaps closed (or is faulty and won't stay open) that is exactly why you treat all weapons as loaded and dangerous.

If you open the bolt, you check the chamber to ensure it's empty (I always cycle the action a couple times first, just in case) - I'd assumed you knew that and didn't need to be taught.
