I play up my "Southerness" sometimes just for fun, was born in the Midwest and lived there until the age of 11. My mom's father's side of the family were true Southerners having fought in the war and later erecting the first monument to the Confederacy in SC but her mom was from NYC (imagine that). My dad's side of the family were pioneers that went West from Virginia settling first in Illinois and Missouri and later Oklahoma so I'm really just an American (with a Southern accent lol).

Pinging you and a few others to a picture of my Nana from NYC(!) Her parents were Irish immigrants from County Cork, her name is Mary Broderick and she was known for being tough but good as gold.
