Per John & Ken (for all you out of L.A., theyre talk show hosts weekday afternoons on KFI AM 640 radio) made the announcement and Bob Dornan gave Gilchrist his endorsement on KFI today. The official announcement is expected by Gilchrist tomorrow on the John & Ken show. JG will be a guest at their on-the-road show in Ontario for the Cal. Border Police petition drive there.
If you want to tune in, the John & Ken show will be tomorrow (Friday August 19th), from 3 to 7 PM Pacific Time. You can hear the show from anywhere via the internet at: http://www.kfi640.com/interactive/streaming.html
Time to rally around him. Send a very CLEAR message.
BTTT!!!!!!!!!
Jim Gilchrist has definitely "fired the shot heard around the world" on illegal immigration.
"The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government,
1. The act of invading; the act of encroaching upon the rights or possessions of another; encroachment; trespass.
Problem is he's planning to run on the Constitution Party ticket. That alone will make it very difficult.
John & Ken have a "Drive-By Signing" at the Ayres Suites, (ONTARIO AIRPORT) 1945 E Holt Blvd. 91761. The event is Friday, 19 Aug. 3pm to 7pm Pacific.
Show is broadcast on 640AM in Southern California and online here.
Minuteman Project co-founder Jim Gilchrist is considering running for Congress!President Bush has just appointed Congressman Chris Cox (R-California) to the Securities and Exchange Commission. This leaves an important vacancy in Congress for Californias 48 th Congressional District!
Gov. Schwarzenegger is required to set a special election date within two weeks of the appointment.
If ever there were a time to support a fellow Minuteman, it is now!
Jim is seriously considering running for this seat. And, if he wins, hell take the fight to protect our borders straight to the President with REAL border security legislation!
Californias 48 th Congressional District sits squarely in Republican Orange County with over 50% registered Republicans!
The problem is Gov. Schwarzenegger and the Bush Administration have already anointed their establishment candidate--even before the announcement! California State Senator John Campbell is soft on immigration. And, this precisely what the governor and the president want.
We cannot afford to have another congressman in DC who is willing to sellout our countrys national security for party gain!
Thats why we need Jim in Congress!
Jim isnt just a volunteer and Minuteman. Hes a former Marine and Vietnam veteran. Hes a businessman with an MBA and an experienced tax accountant. And, hes a former reporter with years of media experience.
Jim is the perfect man for the job!
The GOP is forcing border control advocates into third parties, thus increasing the chance that the democrats will win the contested elections. It almost seems like a strategy designed to lose GOP seats.
I think you may be calling the outcome correctly, but I have a hard time believing that the intent is to cost the GOP seats in favor of the Democrats.
I'm willing to take Gilchrist at face value, and believe that he is so fed up with the costs of illegal immigration that he is going to make that issue the central (and perhaps only) plank in his platform.
Not intentional, but unfortunate, if your outcome happens.
I have family in that area, was just out there visiting last week. I need to let them know about Jim's candidacy.
Exasperation and apathy have set in heavily.
Millions of Republicans will sit out the next two major elections.
Will there be run-off election or will the seat go to the top vote getter? Any democrats?
Millions of former Republicans will vote Constitution party.
At least people like Jim Gilchrist running not with the mainstream sell-out parties will offer some glimmer of hope for those considering sitting out coming elections due to a clear lack of worthwhile candidates of their choice. If we can convince enough of our family, friends, co-workers and fellow law abiding citizens to give a second and long look at people like Jim then maybe things will start a change, a chain reaction if you may. Stranger things have happened.
I think the few kooks who go into third parties were going there anyways.
Democrats have no epiphany. They just see imigration as a surivival vote. Democrats WILL build a wall, then they will promply installl doors and pass throughs for "environmental" concerns.
I still saw we can push around the GOP on this issue.
Protect our borders and coastlines from all foreign invaders!
Support our Minutemen Patriots!
Be Ever Vigilant ~ Bump!
So he isn't running for the republican nomination? That's not smart. I don't think he will win because of the built-in partisan vote, meaning the people who vote republican, democrat, libertarian, etc. simply because of the political party name. And the "well I want Gilchrist, but he is not a republican so he can't win" ain't going to help neither.
Give 'em hell, Jim!
The same way you all pushed around the GOP on the CAFTA Agreement? God save us all (from that kind of mindset).
