I agree .. I don't think it was so much that they liked Ted, I think it was because they felt sorry for him, losing 2 of his brothers to assassins.

I disagree. The press loved the Kennedy clan. They even gave the clan the exalted name of Camelot, indicating that they could do no wrong? They did not feel sorry for him, as they should have, they agreed with his politics..........

But what I find chilling is that Teddy never humbled himself after getting away with Chappaquiddick, like any normal person who made a huge mistake and was spared the consequences.

Instead, it embolded him.
