Thanks, I'm sending this link to everyone on my email list!
Do you have Attention Deficit Disorder? Rush did answer the question. You just don't like the answer.
Rush: Why didn't the president's daughters go? It's a volunteer force! The president didn't "send" Cindy Sheehan's son over there; he volunteered
There are sons, there are family members of elected officials in Washington who have been and are in Iraq. It's not a great number, but they are there. But it's not a draft, and the president can't choose who goes. It's a volunteer army....
The issue isn't the men and women who volunteered a few years back; they entered into an agreement in peacetime they held up their end of the deal in wartime. But now many of them have to be replaced, and it's becoming increasingly difficult to do so.
As the President has just reminded us, we dont know how long this effort will continue, that our military will continue to take casualties in the meantime, and that we are being asked to accept that out effort in Iraq is a well considered plan worth the lives of the young men and women will continue to die there.
Under these circumstances I think it's reasonable to inquire to what extent the people responsible for authorizing and conducting this war be they George W. Bush or Hilary Rodham Clinton are willing to encourage their own children to take a place in the front lines.
And if not, why?
You got to cool it with these pics of this bag. It's killing me!
And if not, why?
Your very question irks me. You take care of your own children and let everyone do the same. It's bad enough that we are bombarded every minute of the day with the MSM reporting how horrible things are going in the war on terror. Finding the truth about what is happening in Iraq has gotten to be a real challenge.
What everyone SHOULD be teaching their children is that volunteering for military service is a just and noble cause. Terrorists jeopardize every country on the planet. They must be defeated, or one day we will be ruled by them. I find the finger pointing and nit picking about whose sons and daughters are serving to be more divisive than helpful.
