He is an ELCA Lutheran. They just had their lavender convention in Orlando, Florida. This guy fits right in. I am surprised they did not have a Free the BTK Killer as a resolution. In other news, ELCA lost a $37 million lawsuit from ordaining a known homosexual predator. I will see if I can quote it below.

Eliason, Herbener's former assistant -- defended themselves in a trial that began Apri1 13. Following several days of testimony and deliberations, the jury awarded

$37 million

to the several plaintiffs April 22 and held five parties liable, including the synod, Herbener and Eliason. Partly as a result of the case, the ELCA Church Council in November updated its procedures which guide the church's candidacy process for ordained ministers. The procedures included new screens for potential pastors and professional lay ministers. Thomas was convicted in 2003 in state court of 11 counts of multiple sex crimes against children, and was sentenced to serve a 397-year sentence."

Do you remember an old Twilight Zone episode with Dennis Hopper in it? He portrayed a Hitler wannabe and was failing until the "real" Hitler showed up "to show him the way". Long story short, Hopper's character was finally killed and the "real" Hitler moved on to spread his slime another day. That's how these monsters thrive. After the BTK P O S is killed, there will be another one that'll crawl out from under a rock to spread misery. He's a serial killer who killed at least 10 people. Much as you may complain about sects of any church, I don't think torture and killing "fits right in". Any church-going personna he held was a cover, a front, and a lie, and he could have been hiding in any of our churches or communities.
