ARLINGTON, Va. From rubble to avenging angel: The U.S. Navy is using steel from the World Trade Center in a new ship, according to the Navy.

Not sure how I feel about this. So much if made about New York and the WTC but there were other losses no less horrific at the Pentagon and aboard the aircraft which served as Al Quedas weapons. We need to remember the others too, despite NYC's ego.
I guess this has a good deal of symbolic value since the Pentagon and WTC were each hit and thus this Navy ship will have a connection to both targets. Will it draw the interest of the terrorists and be the next USS Cole?

I think the fact the new ship is the USS New York that it's perfectly reasonable, and very touching, that steel from the WTC be used in its construction. Had it been the USS Washington DC then I would expect scrap steel from the pentagon to be used. All in all I think this is a very fitting tribute to the WTC victims.

We generally let duplicates go if they are 5-6 hours apart or more, but it is considered old news by then, and will be removed from breaking news.
