((mumble-mumble))***........News of the potential patrols in Houston drew a muted response from Mayor Bill White, who said he did not want to engage in a "pointless public relations battle." ........***

***....The advocates have called on the city to officially "disinvite" the Minutemen, but city leaders say that is unlikely. The mayor has said he does not see the need to pass an official resolution on the subject, and City Councilman Adrian Garcia said it would be hard to promote such a measure without mayoral support. ...***

It would have to be a public recall election.
It think this is the direction those citizens should go. And, they ought to save their salvoes. I'd say, just impeach or recall the Mayor only to start with, so they can concentrate their energies and general the ballot petition signatures. Then push the measure again and watch some of the AYE votes magically switch to NOE, by the remaining Council members.
Another public official who bloviates about "rights" of illegal aliens and ignores the Constitution of The United States of America. There is nothing mayor that is "difficult" about this issue.
Follow the money. You'll find the trail and the explanation of human behavior.

I don't know if their study included that statistic but since LEO's don't ask if someone is illegal, I guess they really can't gather those statistics, can they?)
And the other one, 80% of the crimes surrounding that center were attributed to Hispanics.
Ain't it great? Create a center for them to get hired, and cause an increase of crime in the surrounding area?
Herndon USED to be an upper class kinda place.
Since they've had 3 attacks there by the MS-13 crowd, I guess their property valuations must be on a slide. Down.
I'm just speechless over what has happened in Herndon.
I used to live 8 miles away.
Fairfax City will open one next, the way things are going.
Thank God I moved out of the state 4 months ago, but it breaks my heart to see a part of the Country where I spent half of my life going to the dogs.
Yuk.
Day Laborer Site is Designed to Facilitate Illegal Activity
Statement by Tom Fitton of Judicial Watch
August 17, 2005
(Washington, DC) Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton offered the following statement today to the Herndon Town Council as it considered a proposal by "Project Hope and Harmony" to operate a taxpayer-funded "Day Laborer Site" in the Town of Herndon:
"Thank you, Mayor and members of the Town Council. I'm Tom Fitton, President of Judicial Watch, a government watchdog group based in Washington, D.C. Judicial Watch is honored to represent concerned Herndon citizens who adamantly oppose this proposed use of taxpayer monies for illegal purposes. They are prepared to sue the Town of Herndon if you approve this site and they will go to court to stop the Town from violating the law. We sent you a letter to this effect on August 12, and I request that the letter be made part of the public record."The law is clear. Can one hire undocumented workers? No, it is illegal. Can one hire someone without ensuring they are legally eligible to work here? No, it is illegal.
"It is illegal to 'encourage or induce an alien to come to, enter, or reside in the United States, knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that such coming to, entry, or residence is or will be in violation of law.' It is illegal to aid or abet the commission of such acts.
"Can a town expend taxpayer monies or provide support to facilitate such illegal activities? Of course not. This proposed site is designed to facilitate illegal activity: the illegal hiring of illegal aliens.
"So, can the Town Council approve this plan? For the Town Council to recommend this plan would be illegal under federal law. But it would also be illegal under Virginia law. Any town support for this site would constitute an ultra vires act, since no public official has any inherent power to authorize or facilitate unlawful acts using taxpayer funds. Support for this site is not an option.
"The Town of Herndon has allowed illegal activity to go on unchecked at the 7-Eleven and elsewhere. The solution is not local taxpayer support for this illegal activity. The area around the 7-Eleven is the illegal day labor equivalent of a red-light district. Law enforcement is in order, not taxpayer subsidies.
"The Planning Commission has seen reason and rejected this ill-conceived plan. Under the laws of this Commonwealth, and under the laws of the United States, you must also decline to support this proposal. Otherwise, Judicial Watch and its Herndon resident clients will see the Town of Herndon in court.
"Thank you."
In Herndon, they routinely monitor the bars on elden street and nail anyone percieved to have too much to drink if they are walking on the sidewalk. But they are trying to set up this camp for the illegals on the border half of the center will be in Loudoun. Loudoun is gonna fight this big time.

"In an Aug. 9 interview, Delgaudio said one recent study indicated that as many as 85 percent of Herndon's day laborers may be illegal aliens.
These are people who can not get jobs at regular job sites because of their immigration status, Delgaudio said. These people should be rounded up, arrested, prosecuted and deported. Massive disobedience of the law can never be allowed.
This issue backs right up to my district and people in Sterling Park are unanimous in their support of my position, Delgaudio said.
What nonsense!
