LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Los Angeles city officials on Wednesday rejected a demand for $18 million (10 million pounds) by the family of slain rapper Notorious B.I.G. to end a lawsuit that accuses two former Los Angeles policemen of conspiring in the 1997 murder.

Lawyers for the family said they had sought a settlement to spare the city further litigation over the death of the rapper born Christopher Wallace, who was shot to death at the age of 24 after leaving a party in Los Angeles.

Like, they can't kill themselves fast enough, they have to blame the cops.

Yeah, I know, there are a few bad apples out there, just look up the Bulger-Connolly FBI corruption.

When it comes to gun-happy rappers however, I'll take the cop's side everytime.

"Lawyers for the family said they had sought a settlement to spare the city further litigation over the death..."

That's a great idea. Give me the money, and I'll stop suing you. Brilliant!

In this case you may want to reconsider.

The LAPD had several officers who were also employees of convicted felon and gang member Suge Knight. The evidence of their involvement in the killing makes me seriously consider the possibility. And there is no excuse for police officers working for a gang kingpin.

It happens a lot more than one would like to admit.

No not most of them but in any large city force there is going to be a certain percentage of them on the payroll of organized crime. Its inevitable.
