Yeah, because 'good' heroin has such a stellar track record. I like the foreshadowing of the buzzard picking apart the body in the background of the first pic.

Once again, I get to remark that those who beleive the most in evolution are usually the first to complain about it taking its course.

"Police believe a bad batch of heroin may have contributed to the deaths of Mellie Carballo and Maria Pesantez, both 18 and with promising futures" That darn 'bad' batch of heroin. Had it been a 'good' batch, well, who knows? The world may have been their oyster.

Exceprt:
"We have made a major dent . . . a crippling blow to heroin trade in the area," said Anthony Izzo, assistant chief officer of the NYPD Narcotics Unit.
Agents are still investigating and testing the dope to see if it is cut with any dangerous additives. They're trying to determine if it was responsible for the so-called "bad batch" that has been killing users in the city.

Are we to feel sorry for these two?
It was a waste, but it was 100% their "choice" and we shouldn't be wasting our pity on those with such self-destructive behavior - this is NOT a disease - it is the result of a personal choice.

That story is a good one - that don't let this be your daughter and the fact he grew up in that neighborhood.

both 18 and with promising futures.promising futures as what? Drug addicts? I heard a resume of their lives on talk radio and they were not saints as many will now portray them to be.

and with promising futures. How promising can the future be for a cocaine addict who hangs out with felons and who wants to graduate to heroin?

Why does the media always speak of college attendance as if it elevates an individual to a much higher plane of existence? Some pretty dumb people (and even big-time "party girls" like these two) end up in college, at least for a while.

As soon as the heirs figure out who to sue, it looks like a product liability slam-dunk. Johnny Cochran is not available but maybe Peter Angelos could take the case.
