Yep, and that IS the WV Possum Ridge hat that Chester sent to him. I wonder where the camoflage (sp) T-shirt is?
She absolutely IS the best. She and Mr. WVNan opened their home and hearts to us like we were family. Nan is a great tour guide and showed us why she loves her beautiful WV so much. And I can understand why she would like to keep it a secret, LOL, I would move there in a second if I didn't have a business here in California to run.
Whenever you see this special lady, be sure to give her an extra hug for me. :-)
Morning, Gail. How are you today?
Mix it in with the grits? Now, why on earth would anyone want to ruin perfectly good eggs? LOL ;-)
Awww....what a nice thing to say. That is what we hoped our post would accomplish. :-)
((((((((Temple Owl))))))))
Grit's must be a Southern heritage thang. :)
About those grits, I think it is an acquired taste....best acquired when one is young (and preferably REALLY hungry, LOL).

Morning, Pippin. That sounds like a great idea! Maybe we will just do that someday. :-)
Hey, good morning to you, mrstank!
I would love to come to Maine! New Hampshire is the farthest north I have been in New England. Maine looks like a lovely place to visit. I am assuming that summer would be the time to visit? Or maybe early autumn?
Hi, Mrstank!
I'm not able to drive but I can show you some inteeresting sights.
but don't come in July or August or you get the three "H's"
Hot! Humid! and Hundred! PHEW!
But come for the crabs too! :o)
Rte. 302 through the White Mountains is beautiful in the fall though. That's mostly NH, but starts in ME.
Honestly, I've lived here 4 years, and haven't seen much of Maine myself. We'll discover it together! ;)
Hi Pippin! :)
Thanks, Dolly. I wouldn't have attempted it if the others had not so willingly contributed their write-ups to me. That's the part I DON'T like doing. Nan even specified which photos she wanted inserted and where. Made it fairly easy to put together. :-)
what a hoot about the shower stall.
LOL! You should have been there. It was like a classic Ethel and Lucy routine. Here I am mortified, about what I had done to my hostess' shower thingie and Scubachick was nearly rolling on the floor laughing at me as I was explaining how the thing just "broke" and water was spraying everywhere....(Hey Nan.....I think "destroyed" is a little over-stated, LOL. It implies intent, for Pete's sake!). So, scubachick and MamaBear mastermind a brilliant plan to slip out and go to Wal-Mart and buy a new one, which I was going to bring back and present to Nan with my apologies. I really wasn't going to try to get away without confessing. LOL.
Of course, the sly Nan foiled our plan when she announced she would go with us. YIKES! What to do now??? LOL. So, much to my dismay, my confession had to be made in the hardware isle at Wal-Mart. Being the sweet angel of a person that she is, she graciously told me I didn't need to replace it.....but, of course, I did need to replace it and I did. :-)
What a klutz I am! But I repair what I destroy accidentally break. LOL!
Well I really needed this email that I opened from my minister's wife. In the past hour both the vacuum & electric shampooer (both fairly new) died. And I am frantically trying to do a "project" of timely importance.
Life is never easy is it?

Stress Management
A lecturer, when explaining stress management to an audience,
raised a glass of water and asked, "How heavy is this glass
of water?"
Answers called out ranged from 20g to 500g. The lecturer
replied, "The absolute weight doesn't matter: Its practical
weight depends on how long you try to hold it. If I hold it
for a minute, that's not a problem. If I hold it for an hour,
I'll have an ache in my right arm. If I hold it for a day,
you'll have to call an ambulance. In each case, it's the same
weight, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes."
He continued, "And that's the way it is with stress and its
management. If we carry our burdens all the time, sooner or
later, as the burden becomes increasingly heavy, we won't
be able to carry on. As with the glass of water, you have
to put it down for awhile and rest before holding it again.
When we're refreshed, we can carry on with the burden. So,
before you return home tonight, put the burden of work down.
Don't carry it home. You can pick it up tomorrow. Whatever
burdens you're carrying now, let them down for a moment if
you can. Relax; pick them up later after you've rested. Life
is short. Enjoy it!"
Then he shared some ways of dealing with the burdens of life:
Accept that some days you're the pigeon, and some days you're
the statue.
Always keep your words soft and sweet, just in case you have
to eat them.
A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a
detour.
Remind yourself that birthdays are good for you: The more you
have, the longer you live.
Nobody cares if you can't dance well: Just get up and dance.
Drive carefully. It's not only cars that can be recalled by
their maker.
If you can't be kind, at least have the decency to be vague
or silent.
If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it
was probably worth it.
It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to serve
as a warning to others.
Never buy a car you can't push.
Never put both feet in your mouth at the same time, because
then you won't have a leg to stand on.
Since it's the early worm that gets eaten by the bird, sleep
late.
The early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse gets the
cheese.
When everything's coming your way, you're in the wrong lane.
You may be only one person in the world, but you may also be
the world to one person.
Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once.
Don't cry because it's over: Smile because it happened.
We could learn a lot from crayons: some are sharp, some are
pretty and some are dull; some have weird names, some have
ragged wrappers, and all are different from each other, but
they all have to live in the same box together.
Happiness comes through doors you didn't even know you left
open.
Hey, wouldn't that be fun!?
You have a great day, mrstank!
Lori, I have never eaten grits either. :)
That is EXACTLY what he is saying. They are best buds.....he is absolutely crazy about that little dog. Well, I confess, I am too! I am crazy about BOTH of my guys. :-)
Oh, yes, that very expensive souvenir shirt that we found in that little WV specialty shop! (But, nothing is too good for my JK - he is worth every penny I spent on it/him.....in fact WAY more. LOL) ;-)
Darn, I forgot to have him put it on. :-(
