Anyone care to defend this assertion? What possible data could justify this statement?
I keep hearing that Ann is "wrong" but she didn't make any judgement that could be considered right or wrong, just pointed out the obvious... I'm surprised about how "convinced" everyone is that Roberts is the second coming of Christ...
Now he may be... but, who knows. Congrats. 10,000 pages are released and we get 3 good lines... I'm convinced, now
He is in those pictures shown here. LOL Is that the best picture of Ann that could be found? I think not.
bttt
I loved that quote. If Roberts is half as conservative now as he was in his 20s, we are in for a great tenure.
You wish!
What an inane suggestion.
One can never deploy too many troops against a duplicitous enemy!
Hyperbole. Figure of speech.

Heh, that's my job in real life. The meaning of the statement depends upon what Ann's IQ is. For simplicity, say she is 3 standard deviations above the standard IQ. (I think she is smarter than that, BTW). That puts her smarter than 97.5% of the population. That would put judge Roberts at 6 standard deviations above the average intellect, which would put him in the top three of a million people. It's not necessarily a put down of Ann--it just depends where you think Ann is.
And here's a pic of Ann:

He may well be more conservative; people tend to get that way as they get older and get more experience.
Here's another Ann pic:
From my reading, it is my understanding that there is no accepted way to measure IQs in excess of 160. That means that there would be no way to make a reasonable claim that Roberts IQ was greater than 160.
Three standard deviations would be 45 points, thus implying that Ann's IQ does not exceed 115. That would exclude Ann from the most intelligent upper quartile. I would consider that an insult and I am confident that Ann would too.
Hate to break the news to you but Ann Coulter's "support" of Roberts has consisted of non-stop bashing that he's somehow a "Souter clone" (yeah, I just picture Souter clerking for Rehnquist...) Ann Coulter stands side-by-side with Harry Reid, Chuckie Schumer, Pat Leahy, and Diane Feinswine on this one.
I think it's a case of the green eyed monster since Bush didn't blindly pick whoever SHE recommended. Waaaaaaaah!
FYI, Ann Coulter is vastly overrated on this board. R.I.P. Barbara Olsen.
As long as they don't give us a photo of Roberts in a leather miniskirt, let them have fun with this.
I particularly liked that one!
I don't know about Roberts' IQ in relation to Ann Coulter's, but his IQ is an order of magnitude higher than Biden / Leahy / Kennedy / Schumer / Feinstein combined!

At the time I posted that comment I did not realize that Ann was weighing in against Judge Roberts. I believe 8/16 was either the day he was chosen, or maybe only a few days later. I did subsequently find out about her opinion of him, and it surprised me. I think Judge Roberts will be a fine CJ.
I like Ann. Sure, she's sometimes a little over the top, but she still doesn't come into the category of, say, an Ivins or a Dowd (PBUTB*). She's usually a great read.
