Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops?
Basil, you don't know how much I wish I could just hit the road and show up in Crawford. But I won't be able to make any trips your way in the foreseeable future. My money and my kid are in college in one week. So it's back to beans and rice diet for a few years...
PS: You guys need one of these...
Baylor University is only a few miles away in Waco. College of Mary Hardin Baylor, which has lots of troops, troops' family members and veterans as students is about 40 or so miles away in the Temple/Belton area. Central Texas College, a community college with even more troop and family enrollment, since it sets on land that is adjacent to Ft. Hood, is in Killeen as is the collocated Central Texas Branch of Tarleton State, which might become Texas A&M Central Texas. Tarleton itself is part of the Texas A&M system. There's a Temple College in Temple. The University of Texas at Austin is around 2 hours away but tends toward the liberal. Southern Methodist and Texas Christian are about 2 or 2 1/2 hours to the north, as are a couple of branches of UT (Arlington and Dallas).
