Cops say teen driver clocked at 140 mph

Record Online!

State police yesterday arrested a man they say was going 140 mph in a 65 mph zone on Route 17. Police said a trooper clocked the man traveling "in excess of 95 mph" in a 2004 Lexus heading east on Route 17 in the Village of Chester at 6 a.m. yesterday.

The trooper chased the car, but the man refused to pull over, police said. The man finally stopped in the Town of Monroe after troopers say they clocked him at 140 mph.

Solomon Feder, 18, of Kiryas Joel, was arrested and charged with reckless endangerment, driving with a revoked license, reckless driving, speeding and a host of other traffic offenses. He was sent to Orange County Jail on $1,500 cash bail.
