Another Mitchum story. He was busted for marijuana possession in the 40s and had to serve a month or two of time. When asked what jail was like he replied 'just like Palm Springs, but with a better class of people'.

Both Walken and Hopper are awesome in that scene! One of the best in cinematic history, IMO. I'm checking IMDB now to see if and when they have been paired in other movies...
Don't forget his spaced out photographer in "Apocalypse Now."
