I wouldn't worry too much about what comes out of NRO.
They have all been hanging around Manhattan & Washington too long. They crave to be accepted by corporate media types and they try their best to appear sensible...not like the unwashed right-wing kooks in the Red states.
I have heard these types referred to as "Whale-pants Republicans"
