By todays standards, Marilyn Monroe would be a fat cow but, boy oh boy, she sure wasn't back in the 50s when I was a teenager.

Today's average size model is a 2. In the past several years a size 0 (yes, zero) has been added.

A bit of an urban legend, that. There's no doubt Marilyn wasn't rail-thin, but sizes can and have changed since her day. One website even says according to MM's dimensions, she'd fit into a contemporary size 4.

They have some of her dresses in the Smithsonian. They don't look like what would be a 14 today.

I've heard that dress sizes have gotten bigger as Americans have expanded. A 14 in the 1950's might be a 10 today.
