I think this misses the bigger point that the loony left claims certain principles (e.g., their right to free speech) to defend themselves against other but they don't actually have principles or any intention of following them themselves (e.g., speech codes on college campuses). The left likes rules when they can use them against others but they have no use for the rules when they get in the way. So I think we simply need to ignore their indignation until they show some evidence that they think these principles apply to them, too.
