LOS ANGELES -- A Pakistani national has been arrested by authorities in connection with a far-reaching investigation of a possible terrorist plot targeting any of nearly two dozen locations in southern California, including National Guard recruitment centers, law enforcement sources said Monday.

Fyi..
There, according to authorities, detectives discovered bullet-proof vests, jihadist materials not readily available via the Internet, and addresses of locations that were unlikely robbery targets such as the National Guard facilities, two synagogues, the Israeli Consulate and the El Al Israel Airline ticket counter at Los Angeles International Airport.
Additionally, law enforcement sources say, authorities recovered other documents suggesting that particular dates -- including Sept. 11 -- may have been selected for terrorist attacks.
To date, sources say, they have found no links between the men arrested in Los Angeles and any overseas terrorism network. Indeed, Samana was not known to have any criminal record or alleged ties to known terrorist groups.
But the documents allegedly recovered from Washingtons apartment, sources say, strongly suggest the men may have been planning an attack that could have unfolded in just a matter of weeks. As such, sources say, authorities have been compiling alleged evidence with the expectation that federal criminal charges could be filed.
I wonder if this is what lead to the new warning about an attack planned for or near Sept 11th..
Keep up the good work, FBI!!!
Bump for later.
Bingo. I say God Bless John Ashcroft for getting the FBI out of it's politically correct (and suicidal) tendencies!
Other thread was locked as duplicate, here is the other one.
Bump/Ping
KFI is reporting the recruiting offices at 2020 Santa Monica Blvd was on the target list for an attack on 9/11/05.
I think you mean Torrance PD, as they made the arrests.
Are they still there or is that the one that is closed?
I read somewhere one of their targets offices was closed. Idiots!
I usually pass by the recruiting office in the middle of Times Square on my way to Penn Station. I'm going to see if security there has been stepped up. Every once in a while the swat guys with machine guns patrol the landing. It's a heavy tourist area so you don't see them there often.
I am sure they did arrest him, but the article did say there were 100 people investigating the case, FBI, law inforcement investigators and counter terrorism folks. A group effort which is a lot better than we had pre 9/11.

>That's a lot on manpower for that area, and I'm sure that they will find more "moderate muzzies" guilty of aiding their cohorts shortly. Good work by the Fed's!
Maybe. But I think they've raised the alert level each early September since the cowardly attacks.
thanks for the ping!
