I think those launchings were for two reasons.
1) Diversion from Lewinsky's grand jury testimony and
2) Retaliation for the embassy bombings in Africa.
In that order.
I agree with the poster that said earlier in the thread that all Clinton wanted to do was leave a clean legacy...no fighting the Muslims (might get his hands dirty)...
So he swept all of the problems under the Oval Office rug, just waiting to seep out when Bush took office...just like the stock market was going down....but it only went WAY down under Bush and then 9/11...
so Bush gets blamed for the deficit...and the lack of military hardware and such...
and the crook admitted in that interview that he let all of us down...especially the families of 9/11.
Well then , Clinton knew for SURE that Bin Laden bombed OUR Embassies in Africa, and he STILL wouldn't go after Bin Laden????
