Well, as one white boy who has done his share of manual farm labor, I can say this is a steaming load of fecal matter. Picking fruit or harvesting cotton is honest work. Calypso Louie, if Americans are "above" honest work then don't ask me to pay for their food or clothes.
True, stoop labor IS honest work.
But it is also backbreaking work that NOBODY really wants to do,
despite the fact that you can always find somebody desperate enough to do it.
These are the jobs that really should be replaced by technological innovation and automation.
Yet the pennypinching luddites in the Bush Administration undermine such technological development because they can always find cheaper peon labor somewhere.
