"Gated community"
This will keep criminals on foot out how exactly? Unless that fence is going to be REALLY high and topped with razor wire.
But the razorwire destroys the cuteness of the neighborhood.
LOL. Of course the article didn't say that they were trying to keep criminals out. It just said that they wanted to "look like suburbia". Actually, I don't even know of any "gated communities" in suburbia around here. That sort of thing hasn't caught on in Wisconsin yet.
However, I lived in the Houston area long enough to know that the gated community doesn't keep anyone out. I've had friends who were robbed at gunpoint within their gated community. I know someone else whose BRICK condo was entered because the burglars couldn't get through the burglar bars that are prevalent throughout Houston, so they just chopped through the brick wall and went directly into the bedroom where they stole the guns!
