About 400 KLIF listeners peaceably assembled with morning host Darrell Ankarlo as they lined up directly across from the Sheehan group,about three miles from the gates to the President's Western White House in Crawford, Texas. The group hoped to show the mainstream media, and our president, that he has a lot of support and to send a message that we should stay the course and avoid pulling out of Iraq prematurely. Even reporters from NBC, Rolling Stone Magazine and the Associated Press were amazed that so many people made the trek from all across North Texas on a spur-of-the-moment request from Ankarlo during the last 15 minutes of his Friday morning show. Said one, “This crowd is the biggest we have ever seen out here!”
Though Cindy Sheehan, the woman drawing national praise and attention from the mainstream media repeatedly refused to meet with us as a collective group or with just KLIF’s Ankarlo, the Saturday morning event was a success. According to Ankarlo, “We wanted the anti-war/anti-Bush crowd to know that we will stand up against them at every turn. The name-calling and spitting at returning Vietnam soldiers started with just a few irate people and developed into a lost war and a counter culture movement that has helped to divide a nation. I promised our vets, my son and my own heart that I will all I can to make sure it never happens again.”

I got there in the afternoon time.
It did not seem that hot. But I had my mind on other things other than what I consider usual summer weather.

I like how the media tried to say that only a little over a 100 supporters showed up.
I knew Ankarlo would get the real estimates out there.
I'm sure he'll talk about it on Monday.
