NEW YORK (AP) - Time magazine has named Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa to its list of the nation's 25 most influential Hispanics.
The magazine also named singer-actress Jennifer Lopez, designer Narciso Rodriguez and American Civil Liberties Union executive director Anthony Romero to its list along with Attorney General Alberto Gonzalez, actress Salma Hayek and broadcaster Jorge Ramos, among others. Lopez was chosen, the magazine said in a press release, for her rise from background dancer to chart-topping actress and singer. Her clothing lines and fragrances brought in more than $300 million in revenue last year, the magazine said, making her the 19th-wealthiest person under 40.
The list is the topic of Time's cover story, available on its Web site, time.com, and on newsstands Monday.
Villaraigosa became Los Angeles' first Latino mayor since 1872 when he beat the incumbent in a May election.

I'd like to give Salma a big hug to console her for even being mentioned with some of them folks.
Speaking of racist vigilantes. How about this former Mechista?
So Time is saying that these people are "a credit to their race?" ROTFL!!! Tacky tacky.

Read about how a pro-communist, ultra radical "MEChista" named Tony Villar cut his hair, changed his name, put on a tie, and became the mayor of America's second largest city.

I wonder if Reuben Blades was on the list. It was good to see him again in "Once Upon A Time in Mexico" again.
Quien es Diego Sajon?
