Live thread for posting breaking news about the Gaza Explulsion which is set to begin within the hour...
" Lies and propaganda perpetuated by the Israel sycophants who wouldn't know a fact is it bit them. Here's the facts:
From Sept. 29, 2000 to August 2, 2005:
Israeli Dead: 974
Palestinian Dead: 3661"
You're ignoring that the Palestinian Dead number includes...
People who blew themselves up making bombs
Suicide bombers
Palestinians killed by other Palestinians as "collaborators"
Terrorists on various missions
Terrorist murderers tracked down and killed
Palestinians who blew themselves up while carrying bombs
Innocents killed by Palestinians who were carrying bombs, making them, or blown up by suicide bombers in Israel.
Most of the Israelis are innocent women and children who were going about their business and not bothering anyone... except for Palestinians by the very fact that they were drawing breath.
Your tagline is baiting and repulsive as well, and I'm sure it was chosen to be so.
"newzjunkey (Choose LIFE. Circumcision = Barbarism. It's HIS body; what about HIS right to choose?)"
It's part of the Covenant of the Lord with Abraham. I do not know a single Jew who regrets that they were entered into the covenant. I don't expect you to understand.
A large percentage of the Israeli population is against the expulsion, which explains why Sharon never put it up for a national referendum.
"You do realize, of course, that Ur, Iraq, is where Abraham's roots are while Moses lead the Hebrews to their "Promised Land" which, I know this makes you uncomfortable, was *already* occupied."
Not by Arabs, who are relative latecomers.
For example, the Philistines were Hellenic and had come from elsewhere as well.
"I don't see how any "reasonable" person can not see partial-birth abortion as infanticide"
On this, I agree.

Read His Lips
In remarks to the press the other day, US President George W. Bush unwittingly laid out a convincing reason why an Israeli withdrawal from Gaza is not a wise move.
Referring to mounting pressure on the Administration to pull out US forces from Iraq, Bush said:
"I also have heard the voices of those saying, pull out now, and I've thought about their cry, and their sincere desire to reduce the loss of life by pulling our troops out. I just strongly disagree. Pulling the troops out would send a terrible signal to the enemy. Immediate withdrawal would say to the Zarqawis of the world, and the terrorists of the world, and the bombers who take innocent life around the world, you know, the United States is weak; and all we've got to do is intimidate and they'll leave."
All you need to do is replace the word Zarqawis with Abu Mazens, and the United States with Israel, in the Presidents remarks, and you have a darned good reason why the proposed Israeli retreat is a mistake of strategic and historic proportions.
Instead of punishing Palestinian terrorism, the Gaza withdrawal rewards it in an unprecedented manner.
Too bad that Bush and his pal Sharon refuse to acknowledge this basic truth but the saddest part of all is that it is the people of Israel who will inevitably pay the price for their folly.

Sharon swore there would be no disengagement under fire.

Name two.
A source for your numbers, please.
What is the relative military strength of the Israelis vs the barbarians?
If the ratio isn't 1:10000 in Israeli casualties to barbarian casualties, it is because Israelis are kind hearted suckers.
39% is a pretty large percentage if you ask me ...
I would not want 39% of any population pissed off at me.
The opponents have always said- and I feel the same way- that if the people had been allowed to vote, they would abide by the vote.
That Sharon refused and nullified the Likud vote is evidence of the lie of these polls as Sharon knows in his heart.
Hang on......it's comin'....

Even those numbers would not work in the US Senate where the framers knew that you don't allow life or death decisions to be based on a tiny majority.
So much so where Arabs vote on the life of Israel.
What would be even the poll numbers if the internal fifth column (Israeli Arabs) were not counted?
"8 August 2005....A survey in Yediot Aharonot newspaper said 55% backed the disengagement policy, with just 39% opposing it."
In a previous poll, conducted for Yediot in February, 69 percent said they supported the evacuation and 27 percent opposed.

300,000 Israelis say 'No!'
A new survey of Israelis conducted this week indicated public support for Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's disengagement plan had dropped below 50 percent for the first time.
While 75 percent of Israelis believe the forced evacuation of Jews from Gaza and northern Samaria will be implemented, the poll showed only 48 percent now support the plan in its current unilateral framework.
A large majority feels quitting Gaza and northern Samaria in a manner that looks like retreat will result in increased Palestinian Arab terror against Israel's Jews.
Only 25 percent said the pullout would bring a decline in terror, as originally promised by Sharon.
Fifty-two percent of respondents expect implementation of the plan to further tear Israeli society in two.

As well, Ben Yaacov has been conducting a survey of his own that has drawn some controversy. He is director of Mishalot Yisrael, a group that has set up polling stations throughout Israel to ask participants whether they would rather kick out Jews from Gaza or expel Palestinians from Israel. The group says it is finding a majority of Israelis want the Palestinians booted.
In January, Mishalot commissioned Mutagim, a major Israeli polling company, to conduct a survey regarding the Palestinian transfer plan. The certified results showed a plurality 39 percent of the general Israeli population said they favor the mass transfer of Palestinians, while 37 percent favor Sharon's Jewish evacuation plan.
"It just shows the general trend," said Ben Yaacov. "You can see it in the polls. You can see it in the orange now everywhere in the country. There is an obvious huge drop in support for the Gaza expulsion. And Israel is now painted in it."
Defending multiple small salients deep in enemy territory with no tactical or strategic military value is not only a waste of limited military resources but also limits the retaliatory options available to you.
You lose your head when you do not defend what is militarily important to your survival.
When you waste military resources defending every last square inch of ground regardless of its military value, you then get into the situation that Frederick the Great referred to.......You bleed away your resources and, in the end, you have defended nothing.
Israel is trading multiple small and extremely vulnerable salients with no military value for positions behind the Israeli Wall impregnable to an overland attack and is also making it possible to turn Gaza into a free-fire zone for Israeli air power if the need arises.
