Camp Casey is becoming very organized, with how-to signs placed about. Ann Wright said, "That's what we are trying to do."
Let me read you the schedule posted on a tree: "9:15 camp meeting; 10 a.m. inter-faith service, 10:30 a.m., "Food-Not-Bombs Breakfast at Peace House," and....
"Wait! Someone is firing a gun. (pause). He fired it into the air about five times. He appears to be a local inside the fence line on private property. Now he has thrown what looks like a shotgun into the front seat of a pickup, and he's stomping off out of sight. I wonder where he went.
"Now he's coming back out. I'm out here standing on the road. He's got a no parking sign in his hand, walking toward his fence. I'm going to go try to talk to him. I've got to hang up."
(three minutes later)
I went over and talked to the man. He is Larry Mattlage, who says he is on his property and just posted a no-parking sign.
"We're going to start doing our war and it's going to be underneath the law," he told me. "Whatever it takes. So y'all go find another place to do whatever you do. 'Cause this is our front yard and back yard."
I asked, "Do you mean the protestors?"
Wait.....now there's some Secret Service and cops. I'm going to get closer to hear what they're saying. People in bullet-proof vests are here now. Two Secret Service agents are now walking up his driveway towards his house, with Mr. Mattlage. A member of the Sheriff's Department has arrived. Mr. Mattlage is waving his arms now. All of them are now walking back this way.
Now they are between the lane and the house. He's at the fence now. Let me record what they are saying. I'll call right back.

Oh I got it to play on quicktime.
I like this fellow Larry. He squarly asked the media what they were going to do about his rights being trampled.
Told em..If I could get The President and sheehan over here I dont think anything would be resolved, meanwhile Im being intruded upon...and what are you folks going to do about it?
There was no answer
I'll convert it to WMA really fast too... for those on dialup...
At a rate of fire of $10 a second, it is hard to beat that kind of fun.
Ya prolly should try shouldering the weapon to avoid that L0L
Very few feedlots around here. Mostly rangefed cattle etc.
We raise a lot of wheat and soybean also.
If you like feedlots you would love the area up around Amarillo, Dumas and Herford.
You nasal cavities would certainly be opened up. </grin
It's really pretty simple. If the protestors enter private property, they should be arrested, quickly. However, the locals, and I do sympathize with them (see 299), are just going to have to grin and bear the presence of the protestors when they're not breaking any laws.
If you aim a gun in a certain direction, the bullets won't harm anyone. Trust me on this.
"the Peace House is some sort of Lefty gathering place in Crawford. I think everyone is furnished a bed to crawl under."
How about a rock to slither under?
I finally got it to play this attempt... Ol' Larry doesn't mind giving them a good piece of his mind.... Asking the press....
....
What are you going to do about it?.... You are part of the problem also.....
im tuckin that rascal into my right thigh well away from the troops if you know what I mean L0L
Oh he's a bit of a rambler and no politician ...but he wont be walked on L0L
Thanks, that may help also. I finally got it to load and play. Don't know what was happening. I'm on cable and had no problems with the first tape.
Thanks for the link.
Finally got it to play and personally I think this man has more common sense than most anyone involved in this mess.
lol ~ I guess I would agree with him! sheehan certainly has the right to be as stupid and as vocal as she wants.
I've no complaint that this idiot deems it appropriate and necessary to stand on the coffin of her dead son and berate this nation.
This is her insanity and, like the weird guy in the park with the panties on his head shouting biblical phrases, in a free country she has the right to act upon it as long as she doesn't pose a danger herself or others. (I think that's how it goes....isn't it?)
My complaint is with the fiction being created and disseminated about who this woman is and what she is doing.
My complaint is with sheehan cloaking herself in the mantle of "grieving mother" to fend off any and all criticism of her disingenuous crusade.
My complaint is with sheehan's attempt to include all of the families of all our fallen heroes in her denouncement of the war on Iraq.
My complaint is that sheehan is intentionally disrupting the lives of others in her effort to gain attention.
My complaint is with sheehan's seditious rhetoric and with the blatant hypocrisy of people who send hundreds of thousands of dollars in aid to the terrorists blaming my President for the murders these terrorist then commit!
Those are some of my complaints......not all, but some.
not that you asked...;^)
This Larry guy is great! CNN just had him on for probably 5 minutes just letting him talk. He's done with this and so are his neighbors.
We had no choice.
My impression.
He sure isnt scared to lay it out for you and tell you what he thinks.
Not going to be intimidated by anyone.
Talks straight and damm sure isnt mealymouthed
I love Texas
