Hey Deport

I got this from a Bush hater in my email ..Do you know anything about this Veteran's stuff? or do you know who on this site can refute it?

Vets Listen Up

Our fearless leader has figured out yet another way to screw our, vets. An article by e-mail from a friend given to him by his friend, previously under-secretary of Veteran’s Affairs for the State of New Mexico, discussed the fact that the Veteran's Administration is under presidential directive reviewing over 70,000 veteran claims for PTSD. An effort to deny those already receiving mental health disability for PTSD, and making further claims for PTSD more difficult if not impossible. Those to be targeted are those awarded at a 100% and unemployable for PTSD. The directive asserts through misinformation that fraud from vets claiming to suffer from PTSD and receiving benefits is as high as 30%, when in reality is it less then 2%. Tax breaks for the wealth and self-serving and greedy pork barrel in the rest of government far exceeds that of monies spent on help for our afflicted warrior’s needs.
The current head of Veteran's Affairs for New Mexico confirmed the presidential directive to reduce the number of active claims for PTSD to a "low mean" rather than an increased mean. Senator Obama had called for assistance to increase claims and benefits but it seems that this presidential directive comes as direct retribution to his initiative. The president’s directive stone-heartedly includes the shutting down and boarding up of VA nursing facilities, placing 100's of elderly and disabled vets on the street. Some of these vets are at the end of their lives and incapable of caring for themselves. A bullet through the head would be more humane. I this what we want in the grand US of A?
In Arizona and other locals, hundreds of acres mushrooming with aircraft and military equipment sit rotting away, billions and billions of dollars wasted, misused and no accountability? One stealth bomber can cost a billion dollars. How many veterans could that help? What’s worse is the fact that so many glorified generals in the military and in the Pentagon seem not to care about the men who have served and are serving. Why are they not standing up to this president and saying that this is intolerable, instead they sit on their lionized and well paid asses, looking forward to guaranteed pensions and say or do nothing. Have they no shame, pride or balls? Are they as disengaged from those who served and are serving our country as the present administration that so dishonors, belittles, demeans and ignores the plight of returning recruits, yet expect them to give of themselves for the vanities of their wars.
The military admits to at least 17% of those on and returning from active duty have PTSD, truthfully it’s more then 30%. The VA is cutting mental health services while espousing an enlightened effort to recognize diagnosis and provide help (propaganda is cheap) that in truth is daily becoming more and more non-existent. This witch-hunt of "potentially fraudulent" cases that is taking place is targeting vets now in their fifties and sixties what of those coming back from our present entanglement in the middle east? As a society who claims to "support our troops" it is un-American to sit back and allow this to happen to our veterans, and this is just the beginning of an offensive against our soldiers.
This duplicitous administration’s hypocritical action is unconscionable. How can this arrogant president praise the soldier and castrate the vet? How can they ask for sacrifice and not support the results of that sacrifice initiated and enacted by them while squandering and being unaccountable with funds? Vets, in the hearts and minds of this administration must be considered no better then sheep being sent to slaughter. This from a president, who if anybody is guilty of fraud it would be him, and because of name, fortune and misdeed shamelessly avoids paying the tolls many service men daily pay after surviving the service of war.

Sincerely,
XXXXX
